The return of our annual Bugfest brought both excitement and trepidation as students in Year 8 were introduced to a range of animals from many different biomes. Nick Wadham, children's author and presenter of 'Wild and Deadly', taught students about scorpions, tarantulas, snakes, cockroaches and lizards. They were lucky enough to meet the deadly bat eating centipede and a 10ft Python called Shadow.
This took place as the result of a Year 8 geography topic which focuses on animals and their habitats, as well as biomes and tribal life. The day was a huge success, with fears being conquered. I'm sure the students won't forget this exciting visit easily!
